I keep thinking of all these things I want to catch everyone up on...so much has happened in two weeks and we have done so much. However, there really is no way and it the end, it may just sound like, "We had to go shopping for this and we had to go buy that." Or it may sound like "we needed to do this but without a car..." or "we are thinking about doing this..." Anyway, I think I'll just update with a few highlights and then move on to the present.
So...a few sets of pictures. First off is a set of house photos. I didn't take these...they were given to us before we came so that we could see what the new place would look like. It was nice to walk into the house and not be totally surprised...things looked pretty much like we thought they would. I think that was a big help to the kids -- they just ran in and said, "we're here!"
You've seen this picture before...now see the INSIDE. <-------------
Last week we travelled to a nearby town that is on top of the volcano that our city is at the base of. It was a nice break from shopping and settling in and it was really great to see some of the Indonesian culture outside of a big city. We went to see the crater in the volcano -- it was really spectacular.
Most of the staff walked around the peremeter of the crater, but with four little ones we decided to not try that one just yet :) Instead, we "window" shopped at all the little shops on the mountain and the kids had a horse ride.
You can see lots more pictures of our trip HERE <-------------
