I think it is better not to know.
For the last few weeks I have been doing pretty well with the, "oh, it might be today" type feelings. I have stayed generally ready...house picked up, things semi-packed, and emotionally ready if baby decided to come. But since I didn't KNOW the baby was coming, I couldn't think too deeply on any of it...the logistics, the pain.
But since I KNOW the baby is coming I have had time to actually think about it. I have had time to fret over the little things. I have had time to contemplate the pain. And unfortunately, my brain pretty much stops processing when I get to the pain part so as much as I try to tell myself that when it is over I will have my baby, I just keep thinking about what it will be like up until that point.
However, I do need to remind myself that the really hard part of labor doesn't last that long. I've been through it before and I will make it through again. And if all goes well I will be holding my new baby before the day is done.
It's going to be a long day though. I was hoping for a really good nights sleep so that I would be well rested. I was thankful for 9:00 induction appointment so I could get up at the normal time and feel ready. We went to bed around ten last night and I did great until 3:30 when I woke up from a crazy dream and then couldn't go back to sleep. I dreamt that I went to the hospital for my appointment, but thought I was in the beginning stages of labor and wanted to be checked before they induced me. But something happened (I don't know what) and I decided to leave the hospital and go to the birthing center (a place I had looked into giving birth). They of course were not expecting me and weren't sure how we could work out me delivering there with no notice. By that point I had missed my appointment at the hospital and I didn't know what to do. I kept trying to call the hospital but couldn't get the phone number. Mixed into this whole sequence of events was me sitting on a top bunk bed trying to find someone to give me the phone number for the hospital and on another bunk someone found something that at first they thought was a wig but turned out to be a skinned human head of hair (I think maybe I watch too much Law and Order). Anyway, at some point I looked at my watch and it was 10:30 pm, over 12 hours past my induction time and I didn't know what to do!
And then I woke up. And I haven't been back to sleep. Oh well :)

Anyway...I was going to show you some pictures from yesterday. We went out to one of the Disney hotels to meet up with friend/CT Member/Shabby Shoppe staff extroidanaire Steph! Jason and the kids swam while we chatted it up for a few hours. It was soooo nice! However, PS is being wonky and it won't let me resize any photos. So I guess you'll have to wait.
**********
Well, the clock reads 5:30 am and Jason will be up soon. I should start getting ready!
I don't know when I will be back to update. We'll see how everything goes but there should be a story and photos by the end of the weekend!
I'll be thinking of you and your family and praying everything goes smoothly!! I can't wait to see the newest Phillips' baby!!
