Janet - I love this post. I am the same way about my house (struggling to keep it tidy with 3 kids) but this entire year I'm dedicating to simplifying my life. One of the main things I want to do is streamline chores, laundry, dishes. You shared some great ideas. Thanks! A quote I read last night helped me realize I can do hard things... "The enabling power of the atonement of Christ strengthens us to do things we could never do on our own. Sometimes I wonder if in our latter-day world of ease--in our world of microwave ovens and cell phones and air-conditioned cars and comfortable homes--I wonder if we ever learn to acknowledge our daily dependence upon the enabling power of the atonement." Great post. Very encouraging. Thanks.

Seems like you are describing ME! LOL! Thank you for the inspiration and tips on how to do it...I have GOT to give this a try. Just 21 days, huh? I'm going to talk to the kids later! :)

Another great post - and Heather's comment on the statement by David Bednar is great too! I will pick something and ask God to enable me to put it into practice!

This post is so great! I have such a hard time finding the balance of an orderly house vs. a lived in house. I have three little ones and the moment I have it tidied up it just becomes a mess again. We certainly have clean up times but I'm also relaxing about it too. My house is not and never will be a "Southern Living" house and I don't want it to be. I too want my children to love their home and to be comfy in it. It is truly an ongoing struggle for me to find that balance. There is a website, that I have found very helpful. She helps you set up routines and she has great ideas for keeping things tidy. I tweaked it to fit me and it is what I always fall back on when I feel like my house is getting "out of control."

I forgot to sign my name above ;)
