...of the birthday boy today. Since the moment he woke up (like over an hour ago), he has not left his new train table.
We set it up in the living room and all I have heard the past hour is "wow, cooool" "CHOO CHOO!", and "No Egi" (his word for Levi). Caleb LOVES this thing! And to think Jason thought we would just wrap the box. Are you kidding me? Caleb would go NUTS waiting for this thing to be built! The coolest thing (in the boys' opinion) is that there is a battery operated engine and as it goes through certain places it makes sounds. So at the train station it stops and the announcer says stuff, when it goes through the mountain the light goes on, etc. I thought we were just getting a table since we already have a nice train set from IKEA. But nope, instead we ended up with THIS.
Yea, like we need more toys! LOL! Oh well, he is so beyond happy with this thing. And Caleb is totally the kind of guy who really loves his toys. He doesn't play with it for a few days and then never think of it again. He loves, loves, loves a few things and uses them daily. Plus, the table doubles as an activity table (the painted surface flips over) so it can and will be used for lots of things. Do you hear me justifying this HUGE thing when we are moving to a TINY house?? LOL!
Anyway, here is my little guy over the last three years. They grow fast.

So the trip yesterday was a success! We had a lot of fun. It is so good for us to just get out of the house -- away from the computer, away from work, away from packing and sorting. Just being together, making memories. LOVE it. It ended up being a pretty long day but we all had fun! We spent FOUR hours at the Pizza Machine -- yummy food, fun games. Then we went to Archivers where I got a sneak peak at the new Digital Scrapbooking Magazine (had to convince myself it was silly to buy it since I have a subscription). I picked up lots of fun stuff -- mostly for little altered projects. No more cereal boxes for albums -- my hubby is not to thrilled with me for that one! LOL! Then we went to Toys 'R Us and found the table. Then part way home, quick stop for dinner, and then home to put kiddies in bed. Jason then spent the next few hours getting the table set up and I put the finished touches on the grab bags and tried to catch up on emails. Late night, but good times! Here are a few pix from the day...
Okay, well, sorry to keep this short. But because of a bazillion interruptions this has taken me close to two hours! LOL! Busy couple of weeks ahead. Phew!
Don't forget, my may GRAB BAG is up at SBG. Enjoy it!
And one last picture before I go. I couldn't resist showing off my sweet little OTHER guy :)
And don't forget to check out SONG BIRD AVENUE , a joint venture between Jan Crowley and Meredith Fenwick. Each month there will be a new kit and all proceeds (after paypal fees) will be donated to charity! How cool is that? And this months kit is already happily sitting on my hard drive and my paypal account is a little lighter. Meredith and Jan teamed up with none other than the fabulous Shabby Princess to create this gorgeous kit! Can't wait to play with it!
Thanks for the grab bag - I haven't unzipped it yet, but I loved April's.
Glad you had a fun birthday with Caleb! My 3 year old LOVES his trains too!
