Can I just say WOW! Jen Caputo (who by the way has a picture of ME! on her blog today) posted this at DST this morning. I say wow for a few reasons: 1) There are some AMAZING Photoshop skill on display here, and 2) It is so amazing to see what models look like in real life. Perfection just does not exist. Not anywhere or in anyone. Perfection this side of eternity is not to be found. Makes me feel better about my skin and about the little crows feet that think they have a right to show up around my eyes when I am not even 30! I still have two and half months till that ripe old age and I am NOT appreciating their appearance. But I digress. Perfection is not the goal. And that's a good thing. It reminds me of a quote I saw on a LO the other day,
"There is no way to be a perfect mother but a million ways to be a great one."
I soooo want to do a LO with that quote -- just trying to think about how I want to convey the truth of it. Hmmm...

I got to sleep in until the late hour of 8 o'clock this morning! Hey, it's not great but it is MUCH later than I have gotten to sleep for most of the past few years. As a dormparent I always had to be up when the kids got up -- around 6:30. In Malaysia I had to have breakfast for 18 made and on the table at 7:30! And we're not talking cereal and toast here...we're talking bacon and eggs, homemade cinnamon rolls, fried rice, coffee cake, french toast, etc. So 8 o'clock is quite heavenly. Levi quit nursing around Christmas (his idea, not mine!) so Jason is perfectly capable of getting bottles and answering Alaina's zillions of questions. He doesn't go into work until 10:30 on Friday so it was so nice to get up a little later, have coffee already made, and someone to watch the kiddos while I started my morning slowly. The only disadvantage is that now it is already almost 11:30 and I haven't
and we have to be out the door in an hour. Oh well, some things will just have to wait. That's okay...it's okay to let things so sometimes. Remember, perfection isn't the goal here. I'm taking the kids to Toddler Time at the gymnastics studio. It is really amazing. For $5 each they get an hour and a half of PURE FUN! They get to use all the mats and pits and bars, etc. They have a huge three person swing that goes in circles. They also always have one of those huge inflatables (bouncy houses, trains, etc) set up for the kids to play in as long as they want. PLUS, it gives ME an hour and a half to do my grocery shopping without Caleb filling my cart with goodies like marshmallows (his obsession) and twine (what the heck?) It's really a great deal. Jason used to go with us and we would go have coffee at my favorite coffee shop but now that his schedule has changed I just go and take my time in Wal-Mart. Then its home to clean and get ready for the weekend. We are planning on going to Lincoln tomorrow afternoon and hopefully taking the kids ice skating and finding some yummy Indian food.

Craft time yesterday was Noah's Ark. We made these fun little things:
They were so fun -- the "boat" turns so you can first see the the storm and then you turn the paper plate (attached with a brad) so you can see the rainbow of promise. I let Alaina choose three animals to put in her ark. She chose a cow, a pig, and a duck. I picked a moose, a monkey, and a flamingo. Such fun.
Later that day I was doing dishes and I had put on some music in the living room for the kiddos and I came in to see Alaina and Caleb having the greatest time dancing. Alaina was soooo into it!
Earlier in the day I must have gotten sidetracked -- I had left a basket of clean laundry in the kitchen and when I finally found where I left it, this is what I was greeted with. A little helper. Um, thanks Levi.

I scrapped!!!!!! Yea! One of these I actually did last week but couldn't show it yet. The second one I just did last night. I used Meredith Fenwick's new DAYDREAMS collection. This stuff is just soooo yummy! I mean LOOK at the glitter paint on the LO's. Oh my! I think all of this is Mer's stuff except the flourish that I used on both LO's (didn't realize I had done that!) That is by Tracy Ann and I just overlaid it with Mer's papers.
Enjoy and have a GREAT DAY!
Gorgeous Janet! Loving what you did here. :) And I gotta say, that Noah's Ark craft is about the cutest I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing it!!!

What fun crafts! I don't see how you do it all, girl. I have ONE and I don't believe he has ANY crafts that he's ever made with his mommy. I guess we can start trying that next month after we get back and life gets settled. Love your new pages, btw.
