...as Alaina appoached the ripe old age of two, I was understandably worried. All my life I had heard of the "terrible twos." I really didn't know what to expect, I just heard that they would be terrible. Alaina was a pretty perfect baby so I had no idea what she could do that was terrible. But I was worried nonetheless. Like clockwork, her second birthday was the first time I could actually even use "terrible" and "Alaina" in the same sentence. She was awful! She didn't even tough her cake (the cake I spent HOURS working on!) She just kept saying, "It's yuck!" She cried through her whole "party" other than for hte brief moment when she opened a baby dall from her Nana, promptly got up off her seat and said, "baby has to go potty" and then proceded to sit her new doll on the toilet. She then came back to the table, started crying again as if the doll incident had never happened, and didn't touch her cake. This picture is pretty indicative of the day we had (mind you, this is almost two years ago now).
So as I sat there that day I thought, "so this is what I have coming my way?" But lo and behold it turned out to be a one time thing and the twos were as delightful as the previous years had been. She was sweet, wonderful, and the happiest little girl I had ever seen.
Then her third birthday was approaching and we started to see signs that three may not be so easy. Then I read something on Tara Whitney's blog about how three is the age that she dreads. I realized then that I was not alone! And three HAS proved to be harder than two. 90% of the time she is still the sweetest little thing there ever was. But then there are those times that I threaten to Jason to send her back to the planet she came from :) Oh the joys of parenting! Anyway, I don't think I really had a point in all of that other than to say I haven't found the two's all that terrible. And look at the amazing two year old:
Anwyay, I had more planned for this morning but things came up and I am all out of time! Hope you have a great day!
Yep, my sister-in-law says it's the terrible threes, not the terrible twos! I have to laugh at that picture of Alaina at her party. What a cutie your little man is!!

Caleb is just gorgeous!!!
And IME, Audrey was much more challenging at 3 than at 2. But the bright side is, she's much more fun now that she is 4. And Ashton is driving me crazy at 2, so maybe he's an early bird.
You know, Mother is always claiming that NONE of us experienced the terrible two's. Yeah right!
