From our home to yours...wishing you a wonderful day! We hope it is filled with good food, good family time, and a truly thankful spirit!
*********
We are truly thankful for this weekend. In a job like ours, it is not very often that you have five days off and five days to be together in your home...with no one else there. We love what we do and we love the constant flow of people in our home but there are times, when the desire to be "just us" is strong. We are looking forward to these five days. We want to spend time together...laughing, playing, eating yummy food, probably taking a few pictures :), and just enjoying one another. We want to use these days wisely and make the most of them! It will be a treasured time.
I got to sleep in this morning....soooo wonderful! Levi woke up at about six and wanted to eat so I fed him and put him back to bed. Then I slept until 9:00. Yea! It was really great. Now, of course, my body has no idea what to do with all this sleep (I got about 10 hours as opposed to my normal 6) and I am feeling a little drugged. But, I am hoping some coffee and a little snack will perk me up so I can get to all the fun stuff -- the FOOD! It will be just us today but that doesn't mean I am going to skimp on the food. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, Hungry Jack biscuits, and apple crisp. We don't really do the cranberry jelly thing and although we both like green bean casserole, we figured we had plenty of food and it would just get wasted. I cannot wait to eat! Mmmm! My turkey needs a tad more thawing time in the sink and then I will get to stuffing that bird! I didn't grow up with stuffing actually IN the bird, but I have found that I really like it that way...it is so moist and yummy! We aren't big pumpkin pie people either so Jason voted for hot apple crisp. Yum! Levi will feast on sweet potatoes (his first time ~ hope he likes them. My other two adored them as babies!)
Other than today's feast we don't have much planned for the weekend. I don't think I am up for braving the crowds tomorrow at the stores so I think we will hang out here, do some crafts, and maybe start decorating!
Have a WONDERFUL thanksgiving!
Oh - Hope your dinner went great! Sounds good! We had a fabulous thanksgiving here too and not battling the crowds on Black Friday either - yikes! Glad you get a nice long weekend with your family! Enjoy it!
