...leaves mixed emotions! On the one hand there was a lot of stuff I didn't done, things I wanted and/or needed to do, but on the other hand I got a lot of stuff done that I wouldn't normally get done. Plus, I got some extra yummy family time and it was soooo worth it! Our internet goes down regularly but usually I just put a call into our tech guy and he is on campus in five minutes to reset it. So, it went down sometime Friday and called. Too bad he was gone for the weekend! Now this is why I keep telling him he just needs to give me a key to his office so I can do it and don't have to always call him. But that is a different story! Anyway, so I was left internetless for most of the weekend. We did drive into Grand Island on Saturday to the coffee shop so I could check up on a few things. I was having a sale this weekend at the shop and it is important that I check in every once in a while and make sure no customers are having problems. All was good! But it did mean that I couldn't post to the 'ol blog and I couldn't upload any new LO's to the galleries...which means I have quite the backlog of LO's! On Friday I scrapped a LOT. It felt sooo good! I'll give you a peek later :)
Our Thanksgiving weekend was WONDERFUL! More family time than we have had in months. The students left Wednesday night and so we have been doing all sorts of fun (and not so fun) things together! I mention the not-so-fun because our house needed a good down and dirty cleaning and so that took all Saturday night and most of yesterday afternoon! But it looks great now! With three little kids it is almost impossible to get the whole house clean AT THE SAME TIME. Usually I get one or two rooms clean, move on to the others, and by the time I take a break with those the first two rooms have been destroyed. Caleb is the home-wrecker to end all home-wreckers. That boy can mess up faster than anyone I have ever seen! Anyway, with two of us cleaning and the kids helping where appropriate, we got the whole house clean. And there is nothing like waking up to a spotless house. Soooo refreshing!
As for the fun things we did this weekend...a few trips into town for the library, for shopping, for coffee, to eat. Our nearest town with anything more than a gas station is half an hour away. It is kind of a long trip but with no traffic it doesn't seem that bad. I think we made four trips in this weekend! It was good to get out of the house!
Thanksgiving day was a lot of fun. I slept in so Thanksgiving lunch turned into a Thanksgiving mid-afternoon meal. But it was yummy and it was nice with just the five of us. Afterwords we went to the playground since it was such a nice day and had a blast there!
Today is the last day of our break. Tonight the students arrive back and Jason goes back to work tomorrow morning. It will be hard to let this time go...I miss my family so much. But, there are only three weeks until Christmas so I am sure we will manage. Today we are going to decorate! We haven't decided on whether we will put up a tree (long story there) but we will do all the rest today. It should be fun!
Okay, a few LO's...I can't show them all (some are new kits coming out, some I am holding back for specific things) but here are a few anyway...
I just love these pictures of Cabe. We were playing in the park a few weeks ago and the rest of us were doing cartwheels. Caleb wanted to join in so this is what he did!
Christmas morning cuddles were the best part of Christmas last year! I used Dani Mogstad's JOY kit from her Season of Scrap collection at the Digi Shoppe.
And another pink Christmas one! This is just a bit about our tradition of opening gifts on Christmas eve. This is actually 2004 even though the date says 2005. Need to go back and change that! Another reason I love digital! I used Gina Miller's CHRISTMAS FRESH mini kit.
Just a quick fun page about Alaina and her morning breakfast orders! Various stuff here...papers by Jen Wilson and Shabby Princess, paint dots and tags by Michelle Coleman.
This is one of my all-time favorite pictures of Alaina. It was from when we were living in Colorado and she just looks so sweet and snuggly in her winter coat! I used Meredith Fenwick's TRUE SPIRIT kit.
I just adore this page. I love the bright colors and the sweet picture of Alaina! I used Mindy Teresawa's FLORAL ZEST kit (Designer Digitals).
This is my favorite page of the bunch! These pictures were taken Thanksgiving Day afternoon. The kids and I were having fun and being silly and Jason just took pictures :) Everything is from Cat Scraps -- paper by Catrine and doodles by Ida.
And finally...
This picture is also from Thanksgiving afternoon. Something happened on the playground and smiles turned to tears. The page simply says, "Unfortunately, no all days are good days." It will go in my, "Things I want you to know" album.
Phew! That's a lot! PLUS, I made a bunch of new templates so be on the lookout! I have something fun in the works!
Have a GREAT DAY!
Sounds like a great long weekend! Wonderful pics, as always; you're blessed!
