....a quiet house, a hot cup of coffee, and the knowledge that you have the weekend off. Seriously, it's just so nice and peaceful. With three kids ages three and under, 22 dorm girls ages 13-19, and all the other little crazy things of life, PEACE is hard to come by. I am sure, since it is already half past seven, it will come to an end fast, but for a few minutes I am going to soak it in.
Okay...today is the BIG day! I am so excited...
Yep...that's right....my store is now open... CLICK HERE
I am so thankful to Janel and Misty for giving me the chance. I love this hobby of mine so much and I love the idea of having something to give back to the community. For those of you who may not really get what I am doing...let me try to explain.
First, for digi-scrappers: I am selling layer .psd templates at the Digi Shoppe (Janel and Misty's store that has just had their grand re-opening).
Now for the non-scrappers: Okay, when you digi scrap you do so in a graphics program. One of they key components of the program are LAYERS...think of it sort of like an overhead transparency. When you put one of those down the opaque stuff (where you have written, drawn, etc) shows up and the rest is transparent. You can keep stacking transparencies on top of one another. Sometimes, changing the order will change the picture...allowing other parts of the picture(s) to show through. Okay...so that is what we do in digi scrapping. So, what I am doing is selling a pre-made set of layers (transparencies, so to speak). Each of them has a shape, drawing, etc. on it and together they make a scrapbook page. However, they aren't very pretty! They are mostly gray, black, and white. In come Suzy Scrapbooker with her hard drive full of beautiful kits. There is a great feature in a lot of photo editing programs that allows you to put something above a layer, perform a command, and the top layer will stay true to its color, etc. but will take the SHAPE of the layer beneath. So, with my templates, scrappers can add their own pictures, papers, etc. and just make them take the shape of the layout I have already done for them. Then, of course, they can add their own embellishments and journaling, etc.
These templates are GREAT for beginning scrappers, or just those who want to get a lot scrapped and don't have the time (or desire) to come up with the design themselves. I have had so much fun creating these and it has stretched me...making me try new things, learn new tricks, and expand my scrapping. Plus, I have gained a new respect for designers for all the time it takes not only to design, but also to package, load into stores, etc. It has taken a lot of time but it was worth it...even for just what I learned.
So here you go....the templates I have made...and if I have made a layout with them I'll show that, too.

So there you go...that's what I have been up to for the past two weeks. It has been crazy, and a learning experience, but it has been fun!
OK, so I have a few more LO's for you that weren't part of this project...
First, check out the homepage at SWEET SHOPPE DESIGNS for the new layouts for September. This month, we scraplifted Natalie Braxton (Tali). I did a page called "It's good to be princess."
Next, a few pages using Meredith Fenwick's new PIECES OF ME Collection, available at Scrapbook Graphics
(yes, I know I spelled tricycle wrong...I'll go back and fix it!)
Next, new yummy stuff from Dani Mogstad...
I did the page a few weeks ago and have been dying to show it....can you believe Levi is four months already?????
Layout made using Dani Mogstad's OLD SCHOOL kit, found exclusively this month at A CHERRY ON TOP
Layout made using Dani Mogstad's MADDY'S SMILE kit at Design By Dani
And finally...I had sooooo much fun with this next one. This is why I love being on design teams. It makes me try stuff I might not otherwise use and I end up loving the result! This layout was made using Angela Barton's SHELF LETTERS at SSD. Is this not the coolest? I had to play around with it a bit to get the shadows right, etc. but how fun is this??? This is a layout you could NEVER do in paper....
Bored yet? I'll let you go. I have lots of stuff to catch up on now that the store is officially open. Ahhh...it feels good be back. Have a GREAT weekend!
So much to choose from! I can't wait till TDS is up and I can start filling up my cart! You have been busy, girl; it all looks great!
