...I guess because I am tired. I'm going to bed soon but I thought I would pop in and say hi. We had a good day today...good family time, yummy Indian food, good conversation. I even got to scrap a little this morning. I used Manda's new LITTLE DUDE PATROL...twice! I started with one idea, changed things up, finsihed that LO and then went back to my original idea. Two for the price of one, so to speak =)
I'm working on downloading some of Meredith's stuff to play with this weekend. I'm loving it all so far!
Oh, I forgot to mention this the other day. I taught my first digi-scrapping class! I've had some people come over to my house before to learn about it, but this time I actually "taught" to a group of four women. Some of the ladies who work at our school wanted to learn more about it so they had our school computer guy download a trial of Photoshop elements and get the screen projector hooked up. I walked them through a sample page. It was the first time so I stumbled through a bit...it is hard to know how to cram stuff into one hour. Photoshop takes a long time to learn but I wanted them to see themselves actually create a page. We did a really simple one...but I tried to walk them through using the tools that I use most, including a bit on levels for lighting corrections. Here is what our final LO looked like:
Due to Terms of Use issues of designer's stuff, I just used some old papers and elements I made 4 or 5 months ago when I had a silly idea for a week or so that I would like to design. Glad I came to my senses and decided to stick with just scrapping! All in all, I am glad I did the "class." It gave me ideas on how to try to "teach" digi-scrapping to others. Since I am self-taught, it is hard to know how to guide people through it. And yet I have had SO MANY people ask me how to do it, how to get started, etc. I love this hobby and art form so much that I want lots of people to do it...even just for the sake of treasuring their family's memories. If any of you have taught digi scrapping, I'd love to hear about your experiences.
Alright...my DH left the office and went to our room so I think that is my cue to get off the computer. Have a great day and wish me luck on packing. These things are not going to jump into boxes themselves =)
How cool that you taught a class! That must've been fun. Oh and I LOVE your design on the Cat Patrol layout. That gives me some inspiration....
Congrats on your Meredith Fenwick spot! I'll be working with you for a month since I applied for and was given a guest spot! Woohoo! I couldn't do a full-time spot so I was so excited that she gave the option to apply for GTM! Enjoy all your fun goodies! I can't wait to see what you do with it all!

That's cool about teaching other people. I think I'd have a hard time figuring out where to start, too, because I'm self-taught also. But that's great that you were able to show them some things. Hope your weekend goes well.
