I know, I know....I've been MIA for the quite a while now. So sorry! It's just that since we have been back from our trip I have had soooo much to do. And since I always want to update my blog with lots of pictures and stories, etc. I never have enough time. But, since it never appears as if there will be time to do all I want to do, I write now. I'll have a few LO's for you but pictures from our trip will have to wait.
Okay, so, our trip. It was WONDERFUL! We had soooooo much fun as a family! It was just so great being together as the four of us. The kids are finally old enough to be able to go and do stuff and actually enjoy it. Plus, although Cabe still takes a nap, he *can* miss it which allows us much more freedom in our day. So most days we would have breakfast in (lots of Dunkin' Doughnuts...we can't get that here in Penang) would go out for the day, and then have dinner a back at the hotel. It was soooo mice staying in a hotel with a kitchen (stove, fridge, and microwave), two bedrooms, a living room, and a dining room. It was just perfect for the fam! Dinners in were especially nice because taking little ones out to a restaurant anywhere NEAR bedtime can be quite the nightmare. So, we did lunches out and then made yummy things like spaghetti and steak for dinner. Okay, since I don't have time to list everything we did, here are the highlights...
* FOOD!! (stuff we can't get in Penang): Chilis, TGIFridays, Subway, Dunkin' Doughnuts
* Ice skating...yep, Alaina got to go ice skating. Her sweet Daddy took her and even though she could barely stand up she had a GREAT time! She has been wanting to go ever since we watch the ICE PRINCESS a few months ago. We also have tickets for Disney on Ice next weekend and I think she got a little confused...after she went skating I asked her if she had a good time. She said yes, but Micky and Woody and Buzz weren't there! "They were going to show me how to skate!" LOL!
* A water park...on a whim we decided to go to a waterpark and what we though would be an hour and a half turned into about four hours. The kids had a BLAST! We couldn't really go on much...after all, Alaina is 3, Caleb not even two, and I am almost 9 months pregnant. And although Jason was *allowed* to go on things, I sure can't watch two crazy toddlers in the water at the speed I move with this belly of mine!
* IKEA. Need I say more?
* Lots of time together! After the baby is born things are going to get even more crazy. We still have work, we have to pack and get ready to move, and obviously the baby will take lots of time! So, it was good to spend concentrated time with Alaina and Caleb and just let them know how much we LOVE them!
* Watching Alaina and Caleb interact...they had so much fun together! And with that big hotel room we had...you know what their favorite thing was? Our closet. That's right. A closet with two shelves and sliding doors. They played in there ALL WEEK. So fun.
I could go on and on about our trip, but I won't. So much more to say about SO MANY THINGS. So again, a few highlights of the last two weeks...
* Gina Miller asked me to be her guest designer this month. I was so surprised. I went to the business center of our hotel to check email and was so surprised to see the invitation in my inbox. Good thing I checked my email! I've already had a ton of fun with the team and with Gina's goodies. Here is my first Gina page...
I used Gina's 'LIL COWPOKE kit from her ANDY's COLLECTION 1. Love it!
* Things are SLOWLY getting settled for our plans for next year. I can't give any definite details yet (maybe by next week) but I will say it has been quite the process. It has been good in so many ways and overwhelming in others. But I can totally see the hand of God in it all and KNOW that He has an amazing plan for us. As long as we set aside our plans and desires and instead let Him lead us, we'll be great. So, I *think* I know where we are moving but I will wait to say anything until things are final. I DO KNOW that we will be leaving Malaysia which means packing up the house in the next two months.. Uggh.
* Birthdays -- Mine was April 3 (on our trip) and Jason's was April 6. We had lots of fun on both days. AND, another birthday is just around the corner. I'm DUE IN 10 days! I CANNOT WAIT to meet this little baby. I am soooo excited. And, I hope it will be SOON. I'm definitely in nesting mode...trying to get everything ready for when the baby comes. I worked on packing a bag tonight (my doctor says most likely the labor will be really short), made lists for the people who will watch Alaina and Caleb, planned the menu for the dorm. I also went and had my hair cut and colored yesterday and had a pedicure today. Need to be looking my best! And after the baby is born there is no way I will have three hours to have highlights put in!
* A day out with Alaina...I will write more about this tomorrow but I will just say Alaina and I had an AWESOME girl's day out today. We had so much fun and it was such a special time together!
Okay, I need to get going. Three LO's before I say goodnight...
Kit is CARAMELLOW by MandaBean at SSD.
Love this picture! Kit is the *AWESOME* PLAYTIME kit by Mindy Teresawa, also at SSD.
Paper is by Jen Wilson (Scrapbook Bytes), swirls by Nancy Rowe Janitz (Scrap Artist), and doodle font by Taran Conyers (at the Shabby Shoppe).
So glad you guys had a good time! We decided not to try to go into the city while we were there, and Jack had a fine time playing with the mini-fridge in our hotel room. Reading your post made me think I might like to have another baby soon...we'll see. Congrats on your position with Gina Miller; that layout was super cute. I love the one with Alaina and your belly, too. Glad you're back!
