It may have seemed as if I disappeared, but I haven't. Well, if you want to be technical about it, I WAS away for two days so I guess I did a mini-disappearing act. I've just been soooooo busy. So busy. There just always seems to be so much that needs to be done. Not usually big things, just the lots and lots of little things that make up this thing we call life. Dressing kids, changing diapers, going to meetings, cooking food, SLEEPING, cuddling with crying kids, talking with hubby, writing and answering e-mail. You get the picture. I am sure your life is filled with the little things, too.
Okay. Hmmm. The last week. Let's see. Well, as I said before, I did get to go away for a few days. The other dorm moms and I went to Kuala Lumpur to shop, eat, etc. It is always so much fun. Things that we take for granted in America can be hard to come by here in Malaysia. So getting to enjoy things like Chili's, Subway, Orange Julius, and IKEA are a highlight of the semester. Ooohhh, I bought soooo much at IKEA. Once I got it home, it didn't seem like that much, but at the cash register it sure did! Let's see...I got a bunch of kitchen stuff for the dorm (so fun to shop with someone else's money!), I got two cute little stools with flower covers for Alaina's table, new pillow cases (I love how something so small can make such a difference!), a new blankie for Alaina, some new stuff for the baby (a small quilt, a mobile, and some new bath towels), and I bought a TON of picture frames! Someone on the 2Peas message boards was asking what people did with their LO's other than putting them in albums. A few people responded by saying that IKEA sells great 9x9 inch frames that are great for LO's. And you know what? They were right. There were sooooo many great frames to choose from. I picked up a bunch! Can't wait to print some LO's and display them!
There was some GREAT and FUN news for me when I got home! I was online, looking at the THE SHABBY SHOPPE to see who won the Bluebell Road LO contest that I mentioned a while back. I was scrolling through the top three and then all of a sudden I saw MY LAYOUT with an HONORABLE MENTION! I was totally SHOCKED! They said they would notify the winners by email so since I hadn't heard anything I was totally not expecting anything. I couldn't believe my lil' LO was on the front page of the Shabby Shoppe! I was sooooo honored! Then, if that wasn't enough, I got an email last night from Shabby Princess giving me a gift certificate to the Shoppe! How sweet of her! She also said the Bo Bunny people who were judging the contest had such a hard time narrowing it down to the top 25...so it is even HARDER for me to believe that I made the top 5! How fun. I NEVER win ANYTHING! Here's what I saw at the shoppe...

Okay, a few more LO's for you. I haven't been able to do a ton of scrapping lately, but since I haven't had time to do any posting here either, it looks like I've done a lot.
Everything by Holly McCaig from her FOR THE BOYS kit, available exclusively at the Shabby Shoppe.
A 2-page LO using Gina Miller's FINGER PAINTIN' blog freebie. Stitched circles are my Meredith Fenwick from a blog freebie and black photo prongs are by me.
Everything is by Mindy Teresawa from her new BEAUTIFUL ME kit, available at Sweet Shoppe Designs.
And finally,
Kit is OOOOH SO FRESH by Gina Miller, available at Scrapbook-Bytes. Blue stitching is by Ronna Penner.
Have a great day!
Oh, oh, oh...I almost forgot. I did these two last week. I am starting a "Meet My Dorm Kids" Album to highlight all of the dorm kids we have had the privilege of working with over the years. Here are my first two:
